Star Wars ships vs. Star Trek ships comparison
#1
I've always wondered what ships between the two most popular sci-fi universes correspond to each other. What would the Millennium Falcon compare to? What about Voyager? Let's see what we come up with... Live Long and Prosper

Star Wars ships do have shields. In fact, in the picture above, the two round bits sticking out of the Star Destroyer's bridge are shield generators.

It's hard to compare because very often things are done for cinematic effect, like any attacks by the Defiant in a DS9 episode, or a Borg Cube (they couldn't include the Invisi Insta-Death Torp in the films, as it didn't make for good TV. Doesn't make good playing, either...........)

But in answer to your question - Falcon would be the Breen Chet. Voyager would be a Frigate. IMO

It would be great to see a movie cover Star Wars vs Star Trek, I'd certainly pay to see it.

Who wins depends who is putting together the photos- I agree that we win with both, and I think there is room for both franchises.

Star Wars ships are crazy fast, though.

I agree. Also, Enterprise needs a hell of a lot more crew to run than the Millenium Falcon does, though

Being a huge star wars and star trek fan... I give the edge to star wars ships. Ion cannons take out shields, and there is a star destroyer equipped with a deathstar laser. Also, lasers aren't the only weapons: masers(lasers that impart kinetic damage as well as energy) plasma, ion, proton, shipnets(disables all electronics similar to EMP), missiles, baradium bombs(think nukes that penetrate shields) and blue rinse(kills all life in area). Star wars has cloaking too, albeit experimental. That being said, star trek also has cool concepts not found in star wars, like replicators and beaming.

This debate has been on going for along time. Deathstar vs. Borg cube: BC wins, in order for the DS to use it's primary weapon the BC would have to be in line of sight and by the time that happens the DS would be swarming drones.
The Borg would assimilate the Jedi, Wookies, Darth Vader and everything else in the SW universe. The rest blah blah blah, Q would just come in and erase the whole lot.

Well, if Q came before the Borg, he would probably have caused some battle to destroy it, thinking it was a giant Borg Sphere. When the actual Borg arrive, he would most likely show the rest of the galaxy the means to destroy the Borg. After the Borg were destroyed, he would proceed to troll the shit out of all the Star Wars people. The End.

Another thing; Star Wars ships could Hyperdrive from the start of the storyline (meaning the newer "Rakatan Infinite Empire" stuff and whatnot.), while it took humanity 200 years to create a Warp Drive in Star Trek canon.
