Temporal Science Vessels

you are torn between the Vo'Quv and another free Ship, then I like to
tell you, that you can buy the Mirror version of the Vo'Quv from the
Exchange for a very good price (less than 500k EC). Maybe this will help
you in making a decision.
Actually, I decided to check
the exchange when I got home from work yesterday, and found them. I had
planned on the Nehg'var as my admiral level ship, so I think I'll pick
up the Vor'Quv from the exchange. Not sure how I'll like it, but it's
worth a try.

Quote:Man,
I totally wish I would have read this post before opening my Vo'quv box
from using my Master Keys... I would have given you one!!!! I plan on
opening some more of my boxes this weekend, so if you haven't purchased
one yet, I'll give you one if I get another.
Very kind of you! Anything I can trade for it? (I don't have a lot, but may be able to find items for you). This is why I like this fleet--my last fleet was
uncommunicative and not social at all. It was like throwing fleet marks
at a wall. At least here I feel like part of a community. Smile

I love my Wells, but it is not worth 200 million. I run the full temporal set on it, and that will cost you another 600 lobi. If you don't feel like spending as much, I would go with the Vesta. It has a lot of built in special abilities. Without the full temporal set, the wells is more like a 10 console ship with just the do over button.

Getting the ec cap raised is a worthwhile purchase. Getting it has allowed me to stock up enough ecs to acquire several lock box ships (and the temporal set).

If I get lucky enough to open another one this weekend, I will give it to you. I have no need for it and honestly, 500k isn't going to break the bank. Keep your fingers crossed Smile

I'll give the Vesta another plug. Get the full set if you can and take all of the consoles and one extra cannon to one hull. Then release the other two (you can get them back later if you must).

Armament- FWD
2 DHCs
1 Rapid fire Transphasic Torpedo Launcher

Armament- AFT
2 Phaser Turrets
1 Transphasic Cluster Torpedo

Get the best turrets you can afford. Both torps are rewards from the Breen episodes. Easily repeatable for more if you like.

Console-wise: Pick your consoles specific to phaser and transphasic boosts for the slots where you don't have to Vesta consoles.
Boffs- Got a Commander Sci Off station on these ships. Use that slot well. I've had great fun with a combo of the Quantum Shield that repels enemies and my Sci Officer's singularity skill. Toss out your portable black hole and use the shield to keep kicking your enemies into it.

Eh I would recomend against having a torpedo aft if you are using DHC fore. It just takes too much damage away one way or the other. Drop the rear torp and add another turret or if you have enough rep an Omega Cutting Beam.

Ah, but the Vestas are nearly as maneuverable as a well decked out escort. It's extremely easy to do a rush in, then pull a parting shot with the aft torp on your retreat angle. That cluster torp drops ~8 Transphasic mines right on top of the target. Plus, the fast reload time on the forward torp means it's ready to fire again very quickly and you can do it all over again

The other advantage is that you don't have to be all the way up into major amounts of rep to make the build happen. I haven't reached that Omega beam yet and I will definitely be giving it a try out when the time comes.

You do have to keep moving on this build, that is a certainty. So anybody that likes to "park and shoot" (which is fine) probably won't like it much.

Dont get me wrong, I dont recomend Park and Shoot, I do however use a modified version of that strat on my Dreadnought. I just think if you are going for a maneverable build you might be better off using beam arrays fore and aft then you can zig front or rear torp into the fight as soon as they are refreshed while keeping your beams firing pretty much constantly. If you are using DHC you really need to keep your front at the enemy 90% of the time or better.

Just my opinion keep in mind.

All good, this is what discussions are for after all. Bang some ideas together to find the good, the bad, and the WTF was that! Smile
