Plotting a SciScort

I'm plotting an escort build for my Federation Science Officer! I'd love your opinions.

The build outline can be found here, and obviously everything is subject to change at this point.

I'm thinking, 2xDHC, 1xTorpedo, and 1xDBB fore, along with turrets+cutting beam aft.
Doffs: 2xSystem Engineer (more subsystem knockdown with viral matrix), 1xTractor Beam (drains shields with tractor), 2xDamage Control (cooldown reduction on EptS).

Weapons type is up in the air, but probably Phaser or Disruptor. Plan is to swoop in, hammer down a shield facing, tractor beam, viral matrix, subnuc if required, and slam out a High Yield and a Beam Overload.

Not sure about the consoles. Probably some Phaser relays.

Any input?

Looks good so far. There is only one things that puzzles me. Why mixing DHC and DBB up front? Why not going all DHC?. That way you may add another CRF or CSV, which will benefit your DHCs as well as the Turrets. Just curious.

I found a sci/escort build that looked very similar to what you are doing.

I went with a modified variant of the hilbert guide. I suppose I will have to link up my build for the Chel Grett at some point but suffice to say I don't rely heavily on sci skills.

I'm thinking the DBB for using Beam Overload 2, angling for a burst damage kind of thing. I'd have to test it really.

If thats the only/main reason then I would recomend sticking with cannons and getting the tac ability Cannon Rapid Fire instead of Beam Overload. Now can you do the disable system attacks in a escort with a sci toon or is that a sci ship only thing? If the former then I would say keep the beams because of that.
