Ground Setup for All!
#1
I've put together a list of ground items which everyone can get a hold off right away. This is a great starting point to be a strong player on ground. I did this because my alts weren't very strong and I like to run the Voth Ground Battlezone to earn some quick dilithium. With this equipment I've seen my alts greatly improve on ground.

All items here are available from episodes so that anyone (despite career) can use them. You can see the full list here along with where to get them. Below I'll talk about some details. Feel free to ask any questions.

Side note: I'm also working on a version of this for space.

**Personal Equipment**
Romulan Operative Combat Armor
Na'kuhl Temporal Operative Personal Shield
Corfeld Mining Plasma Cutter (primary)
Na'kuhl Temporal Operative Minigun (secondary)

This is a great setup for everyone, including bridge officers. It improves your critical chance and the Corfeld is pretty strong. For bridge officers I would recommend the Na'kuhl minigun as the weapon because the two Na'kuhl items combined improve critical chance.

A note on the Corfeld, the secondary firing mode is a continuous stream so if an opponent dies you'll need to press "Tab" to target the next opponent. You can also toggle the secondary firing mode on/off. The fun part of the secondary firing mode is that the beam goes through your opponents so it can hit multiple ones at once.

**Kit**
Romulan Imperial Navy Profession-Specific Kit
Universal Kit Module - Plasma Feedback Cascade
Universal Kit Module - Fek'lhri Chaos Blaze
Universal Kit Module - Chroniton Jolt
Universal Kit Module - Jam Subspace Transmissions
Elachi Kit Module - Subspace Rift

These are certainly not the absolute best in the game, but are a good starting point for free items. For example, as an Engineer I prefer some fabrication kit modules. Out of the ones listed above, I'm a huge fan of the Fek'lhri Chaos Blaze because it can confuse your opponents into attacking each other while also causing damage. Also the Romulan Imperial Navy kit is great for improving your critical chance, so definitely use it. Everything else can be swapped if you have something you like better for your career.

**Devices**
20x Large Hypos
Temporal Flux Generator
Combat Horta
Frequency Remodulator

There may be other devices you want, but if you're looking for some quick free ones then this is the way to go. The only one you'll have to pay for is the Hypo. You can even use these on your bridge officers if you want. Definitely have a Frequency Remodulator on all of your ground bridge officers. Trust me, you'll never remember to give them one when going to battle with the Borg. It's best just to leave it on them.

**Traits**
Ground Trait: Up Close and Personal
Ground Trait: Watch Your Back
Ground Trait: Regenerative Control Synergy
Ground Trait: Fluidic Antigens

These are just some ground traits you can earn through mission rewards. I can't really say to use all of them because it depends on what other traits you have, but they're certainly worth looking into. For example, Up Close and Personal will increase weapon damage the closer you are to your opponent.

Ground Trait: Fluidic Antigens Arrow Mission: Surface Tension
Romulan Operative Combat Armor Arrow Mission: Survivor
Ground Trait: Watch Your Back Arrow Mission: The Renegade's Regret

Romulan Imperial Navy Profession-Specific Kit Arrow Mission: Uneasy Allies
Universal Kit Module - Plasma Feedback Cascade Arrow Mission: Uneasy Allies
Elachi Kit Module - Subspace Rift Arrow Mission: What's Left Behind
Frequency Remodulator Arrow Replicator

The free stuff (out of the box) is pretty good, but requires some grind, but it also makes your life easier going forward.

I would also like to add that the Fractal Remodulator replaces the Frequency Remodulator but it will require
50 [Nanopower Capacitor], 50 [Fibro-Neural Interface Cabling], and 50 [Cybernetic Armature] from the Defera Invasion Zone. To get all the items, does require a few hours solo,

Thanks, as I mentioned in my post, all of that is listed in the link I shared, and more. Mission as well as the title of the story arc, and some notes.

Fractal Remodulator is certainly better, but since it requires extra grinding I didn't put it in. That is more useful for Advanced/Elite queues. For general every day play, the Frequency Remodulator is good enough.

Apparently I have a link following disorder Blush

Also doing this, and looking at some of the other questions, I might be worth the effort to updating the guides > Careers in STO section where we can recommend basic builds as well as ships you can acquire along the line.

That section will be going away in the new version of the site that I've been working on. I decided not to make any updates to these old pages.

I can post a viable end-game ground build that is easily obtained via a little grinding and is budget friendly as well as some doffs that buff both captain abilities as well as kit abilities as well Attilio

By the time of this reply, the cheapest price for one large Hypospray on the Exchange was 1,445 Energy Credits. Price at a Ground Device Dealer 320 EC. I advice against buying them from the Exchange.
