I just checked my skill planner, there was an error. My toon is a Tactical Captain, not an Engineer.

Here's the updated one:

I'm not a great ship builder, but from looking at your build, why do you have CtrlX x2 on your deflector and no control skill points or control boff skills? Is it something you're boosting from a console? Also, unless you are going to exclusively run solo PvE, I would suggest switching your admiral tac skill points from tac readiness to filling the coordination protocols for the team size bonuses, and getting your boff CD reductions from technician doffs. Also, I would swap your (crafted?) polarons, for the Chronometric Polaron weapons from the.... "Time and Tide" missions... good innate and set bonuses there, and it's free gear. I also like the tac ultimate bonuses at the end of the tac tree, but I'm pretty lousy at skill allocation and someone else might have a better idea about that. Also, check your boff skills, because you have 3 conn officer doffs reducing tac team recharge, but no tac team skill slotted... maybe just an oversight. I would get rid of beam overload and slot tac team I there. I think you would get more out of double slotting cannon rapid fire instead of using a BFAW. I hope this helps, and if I'm leading you astray somewhere I hope to also learn from the corrections others might make.

AAhh, thanks for pointing out the CtrlX x2, (i kept wondering what I forgot to change in my skill tree!- it was supposed to be a point spent in Control Expertise instead of Drain Expertise!...ooops), but to eplain my choices:
with THAT added to the Colony Deflector boosts my "Jam Sensors" Science trait (in which actually IS a control ability) which I use heavily to exploit my "Fulcrum Shift", and "Photonic Diversion Traits":

Trait: Fulcrum Shift:

Basic information
 • Space Trait: Flight Speed and Turn Rate Enhanced by Control Bridge Officer Abilities
Detailed information
While this trait is slotted, activating a Control Bridge Officer ability will provide a boost to your to your Flight Speed and Turn Rate for a short period of time. The following science powers are classified as control Bridge Officer abilites:

Enhances Specific Powers.
Applies in specific circumstances.
 • When you use certain Control powers, gain +25% Increased Flight Speed and Turn Rate for 6 sec.
Obtaining
Trait: Fulcrum Shift is obtained through the [Genetic Resequencer - Space Trait: Fulcrum Shift] pack, which is a random reward of the

Trait: Photonic Diversion:
Game Description: While this starship trait is slotted, activating Jam Targeting Sensors or Evade Target Lock will create a Photonic Decoy at your target's location. This decoy will attack with Spiral Wave Disruptor Beam Arrays and Photon Torpedoes and have a constant Feedback Pulse effect.
-
Summons a Photonic Duplicate at target for 20 second
-Can be triggered once every 30 seconds

And as far as "TAC Team", I dumped that station (Universal Lt) for Jam Sensors I (Science) instead (for the sake of "Photonic Diversion"...)

which is my purpose for being over excessive in Tac/Bridge officer cooldowns from the Con Officers exploits the "Black Alert Trait" and the "Prevailing Innervated Impulse Engines I have slotted:

Prevailing Innervated Impulse Engines Mk XII
Very Rare Impulse Engine
Character Bind On Pickup
Rear Admiral, Upper Half

+12 Flight Speed
(All Impulse Engines increase their speed and turn rate with your Engine Power level)

+13.4 Flight Turn Rate
Thrusters: 25% speed when engines are disabled
Prevailing Engine - Overcharge
Upon activating Firing Mode Bridge Officer abilities:* +350% Flight Speed for 5 sec* +350% Flight Turn Rate for 5 sec* +15 Defense Rating for 5 sec* +10% Increased recharge speed on Tactical Bridge Officer powers for 10 secs
Full Impulse
Full Impulse draws the power from all of your systems and redirects it to engines. Can only be used out of combat.
Targets Self+122.7 Flight SpeedDiverts all power to engines

(the above mentioned is also why I have "Chrono capacitor array trait" as well as the D.O.M.I.N.O., and Defense Drone consoles added- it allows me to use keybinds, timed just right to be able to pilot this big cruiser like a small escort by use of faster cooldowns, as well as boost firing cycle/turn rate from the D.O.M.I.N.O. console, "Emergency Weapons Cycle" trait).

As far as "Beam Overload I, I use it along with "Cannon Rapid Fire II" to exploit the "Black Alert" trait.
(Oh, yeah the crafted Polaron Turret is for the [Rapid] proc)....so I want to technically ensure that my Tac Officers make use of BFAW, Canon Rapid, and Beam Overload so that I can make full use of my impulse engines and starship traits effectively).

"Chronometric Polaron Set", huh?.... (I have the full set, just never tested them out in any ship yet, think I got some "homework" this weekend!) Thanks for your feedback, roughrider1988!!

That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation! With all the choices out there sometimes you just don't see how they fit together. Enjoy the ship!

also forgot to mention I wasn't willing to swap out the chronometric set for the morphogenic set, (because you can only have one Omni polaron set slotted at a time, and the morphogenic set is way better for me than the chronometric).
