Ah,
ok — there are reasonable explanations for most of the silly "issues" I raised. Just trying to be as critical as possible (like in class, so the prof knows I'm paying attention, though it's sometimes frustrating when my students do it to me! :mrgreen
well, then, here is what I propose:
I think the aliens should be one of two things: either possess physiology/DNA useful for unscrupulous people (like those in VOY: Equinox) OR their attacks should arise from an extra-galactic misunderstanding (like VOY: Bride of Chaotica!). If the former, then S31/KDF could race to try to get their hands on them with the player caught in the middle (and ultimately stepping in to do what's right). If the latter, then It turns out our alien "friends" — and their big plasma guns — could continue to fight us off until we realize they're really only misguided, and it's up to us to prove that, or else risk entangling Starfleet/KDF with an unnecessary "enemy".
(but the denouement only occurs after some excitement, of course!)
To rebut just one of my answered criticisms: I was *sure* I saw ppl in non-civilian, Starfleet unis, but perhaps I am recalling things incorrectly. As for the "zombie"-like mannerisms: I read some stuff over at Starbase UGC yesterday and realized your mission was probably a LOT harder to make then I had thought. Just getting objects/ppl placed is evidently a chore (especially making them interact with things), so now I'm *really* impressed by the mission!
As for difficulty, I say don't change things to suit the lowest common denominator (me). I reread AzureAlliance's Ground Playbook while at the hospital yesterday (and man I hope my mother and siblings don't come and call 911 on me *again* today while I'm resting! :x not much I can do when my big bro, sis, mother, AND burly EMTs come after me. At this point I'd rather just die than spend yet more time strapped to a gurney!) and realized despite having bought room for 12 BOffs and having that many green/blue/purple candidates, I've wasted all my SP. I should have had chosen good ground skills to train/buy points in and looked at the traits (and "special" ones!) before sticking with dumb ones. If anyone can train my BOffs in some useful level III stuff, I'll train them in triorder III or gravimetric shift III or whatever I can as a science guy (I have enough free SP to spend to unlock those). But that's a STOA Fleet thing, and I should post there.
