Do energy weapons types matter
#1
At the moment am running disruptors with the terren beam array, but the more I read, the more am beginning to think its not the type of beam array that matters it's more the prefix and sufixes that matter, Now i know that antiproton is king due to the extra crit, but I see people running the set up I have at the moment with disruptors & terren beam array with minimal dps loss

So my question is a simple one, are phasers as bad as people make out I always wanted to use em as I like to keep my toons "fluffy" but am always worryed about nerfing myself so if I got say

Advanced Fleet Dual Phaser Beam Bank Mk XII [Dmg]x3 [CrtD]
                                               or
Dual Phaser Beam Bank Mk XII [Dmg]x3 [Pen]

Would i be really nerfing myself over disruptors & terren beam array ?

I use phasers and I do just fine.

I only use phasers though because its canon to starfleet! On my KDF I use disruptors for the same reason.

I do not think it matters too much.

I use disrupters or AP mostly. In terms of crafting I wish i had gone down the AP route simple because its quicker to craft those beams Tongue

If i ever start playing my rom' I might craft plasma weapons.

to date, the current ranking of weapons type in pve is:
1 disruptors
2 antiproton
3 phasers
4 polaron
5 tetryon
6 plasma

there isn't much loss between the types... maybe like 3-8% for each from the previous rank, but that difference adds up the better quality your equipment gets.

Just curious, the above mentioned is based on what actually?

I based it from observations on community popularity (i.e. reddit), usage by known heavy hitters on youtube, and my own personal experience when I was OCD on finding something that worked.
