Which one you use depends on your preferences.
I have never used either so I have no preference. Are there any major differences or features that make one better or worse? I am not one of those PVE players who are all ocd about their DPS. I just want something I can pull up to monitor changes when I modify my ship equipment to see the effect. Which would be a more effective learning tool?

I was just on the STOA website and there is "Battle Report (BETA) Combat Log Reader" accessible there. Would this accomplish the same task as these other add-on programs?

I never used the CLR. The SCM is very detailed in terms of what did when how much damage.

The STOA tool is more generalised. It tells you how much damage you did, but the SCM / CLR are more detailed.

Just installed and tried (for the first time) the SCM and on the third try using it I got 9.61k dps from mirror universe pve using this build set-up:

http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/08a63...0a4dfbf9ef
(Please take note of the "notes" section on the skillplanner...some of the items are missing from their respective slots...not on the list, yet)

......well, I'm not sure if I used the SCM correctly, but here is a pic of the stats from the end of that PVE event sorry... the pic was a rushed screenshot).... based on the stats given my DPS is terrible (need help boosting this to at least 10,000 or more)

Those numbers, man....... those numbers.

Try it with ISA - Infected Conduit (Space) Advanced. It will give you a better baseline (and it can be uploaded to the league for acces to the DPS channel.

Yes, as Trudard said definitely do the parse on ISA. It is one of the queues where you are pretty much constantly in combat (unless you die) and will be the best reflection on it.
