EC cap changes
#1
Star Trek Online has grown and changed significantly over the years, and its in-game economy is no exception to this. These days, it's easy to find players at various levels of wealth struggling with a few aspects of the energy credit economy. For example, players without the energy credit cap unlock have found that some items have grown just out of reach. Meanwhile, other wealthier players want to sell their hard-to-get items for more than the Exchange allows.

In an attempt to address these preferences, and to help keep Star Trek Online accessible and fun for as many players as possible, we are increasing the energy credit cap for all players, increasing the exchange maximum sell price, and increasing the amount of energy credits the account bank can hold. These changes will appear in a patch coming to both PC and Console very soon. We know the economy's health in Star Trek Online is important to keep a close eye on, so we'll be watching the results of these changes to see if additional adjustments may be needed.

Here is a breakdown of before/after for these upcoming changes:

Exchange Maximum Listing Price
• WAS = 750,000,000
• NOW = 1,500,000,000

Energy Credit Cap for Gold Players on PC and All Console Players
• WAS = 1,000,000,000
• NOW = 2,000,000,000

Energy Credit Cap for Silver Players on PC
• WAS = 10,000,000
• NOW = 15,000,000

Account Bank Energy Credit Cap for All Players
• WAS = 500,000,000
• NOW = 1,000,000,000

Along with the above changes, we’ve made some relevant UI tweaks to allow for these larger values with fewer faults or formatting errors.

** NOTE: The above changes are subject to change

I had stopped playing because the economy was so out of control it felt like it was impossible to keep up without investing an unreasonable amount of time in the game and now it's getting worse.  I started playing again after the big balance change and was having fun again but that came to an end when some PC problems made it impossible for me to play but now I don't care.  I like to play games that I can pick up and put down when I feel like and not games that feel like I have to be dedicated to them 24/7 if I want to keep up.  I play games for fun and STO isn't fun anymore.

yea the increase of prices in the Exchange is a change in the WRONG direction. all that means is that everything will go up in price even more now. noone should have to invest $1000 to buy the $100 ships, gear and traits needed to make the game function as it should.

they should of instead made a cap on direct trade amounts to force now-unobtainable items like rechargeable batteries and the T6 Connie back onto the Exchange, AND make it easier to earn EC and have a way to directly convert between EC, Lobi, Dil, and GPL instead of having to buy keys with zen and then try to sell the opened box items.

What it will also take is for people to stop paying outrageous prices for gear on the exchange and force sellers to start undercutting the competition. I seem to have hit a wall at 77 million EC and seeing prices of 1.5 bill for a tuffti freighter makes me choke.

instead of the tuffli, (which should be MUCH cheaper like everything else when infinity boxes come round) that new merc ship has all that stuff the tuffli and Cell Ship do too... just no dabo table.

I honestly wish they would just put the accesses these ships have on our starships - there is little reason why we can't have them!

Such little use for the interior of our ships, it's quite the little annoyance.

Even things like the doff control, group queues and so on could be from consoles on the bridge. Would mean more time to access them, but would also be a reason to get in to the interior. I don't think i ever even check out the bridges of my ships!

They're all carbon copies of each other. It was good when they brought in the new Origin bridge but the rest of the decks (all 2 of them) stayed the same - including that monstrously sized engineering room...Pretty sure it doesn't need to be that big lol.

In any case, I would love foundry bridges - of course we'll likely never get something like that, but it would be pretty sweet to make and load your own design of bridge.

Slightly off topic: UFP and KDF have tons of Bridges as well as small, medium and large interiors. Three are also four separate interiors from the 23rd Century Conny, 24th Century Defiant and Voyager (2370s / 2410).

Meanwhile in the Romulan Republic...... one Bridge (Tal'Shiar Adapted doesn't count), one interior and still no place to show off the Trophies.

I WANT A ROMULAN BRIDGE PACK WITH LLEISET / FLOTTILA INTERIORS!!!!! Wink
