Console command for Impulse Stop
#1
Is there a console command to stop FullImpulse?

I can only find a command to toggle FullImpulse:
/GenSendMessage Throttle_FullImpulse_Button FullThrottle

I also found that all of the Throttle commands that adjust the throttle position do not turn FullImpulse on or off. I tried the following commands:
/ThrottleAdjust
/ThrottleSet
/ThrottleToggle

I am looking for a command that will take me out of FullImpulse whether I am in it or not.

Shift+R is the default toggle key for full impulse

Shift+R is what I use now, but I am interested in a key or command that always turns Full Impulse off instead of toggling it.

Or any other command that would have the side effect of taking me out of Full Impulse.

I don't think there is one for "full stop"... at least not one that is accessible to users as a keybind. The devs have been doing a lot of streamlining of available codes lately, sometimes too much if you ask me (i.e. the nerfing of navtoposition). I have my suspicions that the xone/ps4 console UI is going to be forced onto us PC players...

I can't guarantee that it works, but I would try using "throttleadjust -0.01" to get out of Full Impulse.

Thanks for the suggestion of manipulating throttleadjust but the ship stays in FullImpulse.

Apparently FullImpulse and Throttle settings are independent of each other once you are in FullImpulse.

The two are connected when you first hit Shift+R because you go into FullImpulse mode as well as full throttle.

After that, I can set my throttle slider to any value including reverse and stop  (using q, e, and r keys or mouse on the throttle slider GUI).   Regardless of my throttle setting, the FullImpulse is still in effect with the FullImpulse button flashing and all my battery power going to engines.

I am not out of FullImpulse until I hit Shift+R again.

It feels incorrect to be able to be at FullImpulse, but throttle at Zero and ship not moving at all.

So far the only thing I have found that can take you out of FullImpulse is by toggle (Shift+R), mouse pressing the FullImpulse button at the top of the throttle GUI, mouse pressing the Stop button at the bottom of the throttle GUI, or being attacked.

Typing "/cmds impulse" in the console, I discovered a couple of commands that looked hopeful:

/Fullimpulseconsole (Alias for GenSendMessage Hud_Space_Throttle_Impulse Fullthrottle)
/Fullimpulsetoggle

I was hoping that by combining the two commands, I could always induce a full impulse stop.  The first command would turn full impulse on whether it was on or not, and then the second command would toggle it off:

/Fullimpulseconsole
/Fullimpulsetoggle

Unfortunately, /Fullimpulseconsole does not seem to do anything.  I also tried the GenSendMessage it is an alias for, and it does nothing as well.

I get really frustrated when the only commands of an object are toggle types.  If I were in command of a ship, I would want to be able to say "Full Impulse", or "Full Stop".  I would not want to say "Impulse Toggle".  It just seems very unnatural.

Doesn't anyone know a command that either turns FullImpulse ON or OFF without just toggling it?

Unfortunately it may not exist. The console commands have been mapped out pretty well over the past few years. I'm sure if it existed it would be easy to find.

I have sent in a support ticket for /Fullimpulseconsole not working (as well as GenSendMessage Hud_Space_Throttle_Impulse Fullthrottle not working).

They are listed in the console commands but currently do nothing.  I hope it is an easy thing for them to put back in.

I just can't envision Capt Kirk saying "Full Impulse Toggle"

hey boba did you ever receive a response from tech or the devs? i can't believe i didn't think of it then but i've been toggling full impulse and slipstream by putting them into my first tray with the threat button, pets, and call freighter since i have everything else set on keybinds in trays 5 thru 10.
