More than just the "Admitalty System"....

My greates STO wish:

Cryptc desides to allow us to have an "advance style" fleet support system, (once character reaches Fleet Admiral level 60), that allows us two use our other "active ships" for fleet support, instead of just only in the admiralty system, (in a way similar to Nimbus pirate distress).....choose our top 4 vessels in each tier set for example: a tier 4 of our choice from our active ship slot, tier 3 vessel, ect. etc.. to be used in a similar fashion as per say photonic fleet, Fleet support or Nimbus pirate distress.. and have some sort of progression system that first starts us off with the lowest tier ships first, working our way up to tier 6, with some sort of "NON-CONSUMABLE STYLE"module, (sorry, I dis-like "consumable only" modules, some of the best features/ideas are consumable only). Using some sort of grad system that starts us off with a "one ship support" use, than a "2 ship support", and so on, (only allowing one from each tier up to a "4 ship support" only...and also graduating one from tier one ship up to tier 6 snd then working the second ship up to tier 5, third up to tier 4, and fourth up to tier 3, (with a 10-20 minute cool down for this type of fleet support). The only catch is that they can ONLY be utilized in certain arenas like on missions, and only on red alerts and deep space encounters, also they can't already be engaged in an admiralty assigment prior to call...(on a side note, I wonder how that would work out in PVE's and PVP's?).

I believe that this idea would be a "win-win" for us and the game developers, for it would DEFINITELY promote ship building and sales.

Yeah, that would be awsome.

Actually when I first heard about the Admirality System I thought it would be something like that. Instead they just did like a complete rip-off of the DO System. I mean the AD System is fine and fun and all that, but actually seeing your old ships in action would be way better.

I couldn't have put it better, the AD system is just like a small rip off of the DO system, but i'd love to see the AD system in the light that warrynnpeese said, that would just be epic. just a shame we cant petiton the makers to actually implement it for the next patch lol

That was the original idea that the players floated about, but to be honest such a power would be quite complex, and would cause a lot of extra DPS and likely lag to be put into the pve ques (image now 25 instead of 5 ships armed with crtdx3 pen weapons spamming BFAW and ATB in an ISA)  that it would create more problems then it would create enjoyment.

Indeed, If anything, if could only be done in skinning the support ships in the generic versions of the ships you have, but even then it would still be selected at random and i quite like calling in a T6 battlecruiser.
In contrast, it could be like what happens when we summon the shard of possibilities that is essentially a redress of security escort using our current character visuals. but again the coding to accomplish this task would be horrendous.

I agree, which is why when I created this post, I was tossing around the idea that only during the instances of red alerts, deep space encounters and "episode" missions would something like this could ever be possible to begin with, (I "guess-timated") that with the way things were set up with "photonic fleet" and the normal "fleet support" features that it could be applicable in those arena settings, (provided your "chosen" vessels weren't already unavailabe via admiralty assignment... i figured that if whichever "chosen" vessel was away on assignment, you would just be that one vessel short- or how ever many was away on assignment...in the traditional wat that DOffs are "unavailable"), and I'm even willing to settle with said vessels to be "base stats" like what you see in the admiralty system when per say such vessel has been "dry docked".

This would be pretty slick and would give a way for us to put some thought into which ships we have active and what modules they are loaded with.  Heck, let us assign Boffs to them as well.  This would be a great move to lvl70 for them.  introduce this similar to how we already use Boffs on Ground and even in battlezone groups (where everyone gets two Boffs or in space, two ships).  Heck, it could be a full on active change, not just an on call with cooldown kinda thing.  When I load in to a space mission, I get an option of which active ships I want to load in with.

I'm with you on THAT one, (...or why WOULD they give us the title of "Fleet Admiral" if they had no intention of letting us perform as so?' Dont get me wrong, I like the "pokemon" digital-style admiralty card game, but inevetably it doesn't seem inventive enough in the long run- we just end up collecting ships for a fancy card game, and I REALLY would like to see more of my vessels and BOffs doing stuff at the same time, at least during missions if nothing else...definitely would give a new twist to mission replays!)

....would also make "bundle buying" more viable.
