Commendation Suggestion
#1
Considering the commendations that currently exist it seems reasonable and logically consistent to add a commendation for completion of all three admiralty branches to the list of achievement commendations. This could go some way in replacing the war games commendations and the James T. Kirk Order of Tactics which are no longer available. I understand the reticence to add more commendations, and I don't they should be added without consideration, but as some commendations become unavailable it's worth I think considering a replacement.

It's looking more and more likely that the NWS will not be added back to the game.  It was initially removed in January of 2015 because the ever-escalating Power Creep made NWS much easier to beat, making its original role of a quasi-insurmountable challenge outdated.  Originally, they planned to revisit the queue and add it back to the game, but it has been several months now with no word from Cryptic regarding bringing back a revamped version of the queue.  I agree though, it should be worth considering replacing/removing the Order of Tactics with another mission if the NWS it not returned to the game.

As for Admiralty, the only argument I can think of against it is that wealthier players tend to reach level 10 in all three Campaigns considerably quicker than other players, due to the fact they possess more ships.  I personally know people who have dozens of ship cards and breeze through all three Campaigns in a short amount of time.  Since a lot of F2P players have between 10-20 ships, it would take much longer for them to reach this goal.  Then again, one of my alts only has 20 ships and she completed all three schools in a couple of months...

Back to NWS: since the next three hardest queues (HGE, HSE, and BDE) already have their own commendations, I'm not sure what to replace it with.  Maybe P5E (Procyon V Elite)?

The War Games commendations are by definition retired because War Games is not something we have in the fleet any more.

In regards to the James T Kirk medal, Cryptic have repeatedly stated their plans to reinstate the No Win Scenario into the game, and that commendation lies in wait for its return, so it would not be conducive to repurpose it at this time.

In terms of the Admiralty Branches, this is something we can consider in the future, and will certainly take on board. However, the consensus is that we have more than enough commendations that are both easy to earn, and require team work and effort to earn to get promoted. The Admiralty Branches individually can take a good length of time to complete, and whereas is considered an accomplishment by many; it would not be right to add another commendation for 1: A gameplay mechanism that is focused on single play, and 2: can take considerable time to get all 3 branches done, especially for players that are brand new to the game and the fleet. In regards to that as well, already tenured players who have these maxed out would come into the fleet with up to 3 brand new commendations without even saying hello, and we already have plenty of opportunities for comendations to be earned.

Thank you though, for your suggestion, and if you have any more, please feel free to unload them here, or PM either myself or Attilio Smile

Exactly. You Guys have 35 Commendations that can be very easily achieved and you only need 8 to reach the rank of Commodore.

To qualify for a Fleet leader position you need 12 Commendations in a certain setup, but again those are very easily achieved.

It was a nice idea though. Keep them coming. Wink

Thank you for your consideration, and should I have any more ideas I will, as you've suggested, share them. To clarify one point though, what I'd meant was one commendation for completing all three admiralty branches, rather than three commendations at one per faction, sorry if that was unclear. I do understand your hesitation to add commendations in general and your objections in this particular make sense, I hadn't entirely considered how slanted this would be towards veteran and pay players.

Upon your clarification, that's why I said "up to" 3 Wink

Not a trouble at all, thanks for sharing!
