I've been playing for more than a year, play no other MMO's, but I'm doing something wrong. I know my ship is old, but I love it, and with this build I should be doing a LOT better. I'm tactical, running A2B, BFAW3, and I'm almost completely epic. Occasionally I come in third on adv CC, or KV, but that's about it. My build is here(sorry, prolly a better way to connect these...):

Couple of things that jump out at me...

Not sure if you need to run Aux to Batt on this build... you have plenty of tactical slots already, so you should have good tac skill uptime. So for your engie skills I'd consider 2x Aux to Dampeners, 1x EptS and 1x EptW, and aggressively spam them. Trade your technicians for damage control engineers. 

Hazard emitters makes sense there, keep that.

Mines are naff in my (and everyone else's) opinion, so I'd ditch that and take a crafted omni-directional beam array, and keep running two copies of FAW. Three copies of anything is excessive, so trade that other copy out and slide in Attack Pattern Beta. You might find a torpedo suits you, so stick it up front.

Can't be more specific because my gearing knowledge is out of date (where is your cutting beam though - it's still good).
