Aegis set over Sol set for Yamato?

I have a nice Aegis set on my Arbiter and run Sol set on my Yamato - both sets just XII purple, I'm a noob working up to big boy stuff. Never upgraded anything that wasn't the "free to XII" variety.

Question I was pondering was would the Aegis set be better on the Yamato due to the defense buffs/energy resist stacks it builds than the Sol set? Ponderings of the mind starting to pay attention to gear stats and such.
