If you take the Alien race, you are not only flexible in terms of appearance but also in terms of personal traits, as you get one personal trait slot more then the other Races.
I hear funny comments in both First City and The Academy from Klingons about my alien kdf I have. Especially J'mpok and a few warriors around the Great Hall.
