Don't worry about the signature, it doesn't matter to me.

Thanks!

I'm also worried about the Traits — very much so. I'm going to be an Alien, and I play best conservatively. (My main char takes three BOffs who each have Phaser Turret 1, 2, and 3, plus Shield Recharge, and the other has nothing but Shield Recharges. It's slower, but with my medic kit, at least I survive!)

Though I definitely want to play eng or tac instead of science this time. And who knows, I could change styles. I'm worried about them "nerfing" FAW. As a SC flyer, my ONLY hope is to keep healing myself, use nothing but beams, and have FAW 1 and 2 going. Before my PvE space battles were over before they started. And I was the loser. I don't want to have to respec again! I also hope they don't change ground combat too much now that I've finally figured out how to make it through a mission. I got the Tribble server installed, so I can test the changes once they are up. What will I do if I can't play like this anymore? I DID buy the Nebula and Excelsior Retrofits, so maybe I could respec and use a different strategy. Or switch back to science vessels, or even *gasp* :o try Escorts! Pretty hard with a science char, though.

Actually, now that I think about it, once I get to VA on my sci officer, I want to start up another Fed char in a new career. I've heard Fed cruisers without FAW are pretty bad, and the K'Tinga/D7/Vorcha are cool, so maybe make a tactical Fed and an engineering KDF? IDK! :?

(Man, I wish they'd let you choose which rank you could start at once you've "unlocked" that rank on one char. I made the stupid mistake of accidentally clicking on buy more chars TWICE during the sale when I meant once. Now I have a bunch of char slots, and I'll never have time to rank them all up. I *have* bought a lot of ships, such as the NX-01 and TOS Constitution, which might make the Lieutenant level a little less boring for an eng or tac. And I've bought the uniforms, so .... you can see I'm a hopeless Trekkie and not really a gamer. )

Cheers and warmest regards,

I don't remember all the traits so I'll have to look at them again in order to recommend some.

You are worrying too much. You'll be fine even if they nerf FAW. I'm surprised you have to keep healing yourself in a cruiser because Escorts are the weakest when it comes to shields/hull. My tact officer uses a cruiser and I don't remember having to heal myself a lot.

Someone else said the very same thing to me yesterday when I asked him about whether I should first swap in some anti-plasma armor before my first trip to the Gamma Orionios Sector. (As of now I have an EPS booster, two weapon power boosters, and a shield booster.) I actually haven't gotten knocked too many times (mainly when I was playing at someone else's VA level) yet. Maybe I should shift my science powers to only one heal and use a couple offensive ones (though with sensor scan, subnucleonic beam, etc., I already have pretty good tools). That's one reason why I am still considering the Nebula refit. I like the tanking fire-and-forget mode, but it'd be nice to use a few higher-end science abilities (scramble sensors, e.g.). And so far I really only use lieutenant and LTCMDR eng powers: EPtE/S and Engineering Team (don't have RSPIII yet; need about a million EC to buy it. At least that was the going rate when this other guy bought the BOff to hold for me until I could pay him for it.) I currently employ DEM III, but I don't think that does much to help.

I'm sorry. I tend to annoy people very easily with my loquaciousness and worries. (Perhaps "shell shock" from my earlier days of flying solo in science vessels, constantly getting blown up. heh. Those were NOT fun memories. :| )

Regardless, I'd like to get going and create some alt chars soon. (One KDF, two Fed). I might not play them much now, given that I'm not even a VA (RALH4). But I bought a bunch of char slots (my mistake) and uniforms, and I'd like to try run with a tac and/or eng (maybe one in the KDF and another in the Fed). I made so many mistakes earlier (discarding good equipment, BOffs, etc., terrible set ups) that I'd like to redo some of the early content, especially now that I can use an NX-01 for an escort and the TOS Constitution for a cruiser (instead of the slightly boring Miranda).

Thanks much for your help!

Cheers!
