I need help to improve my DPS - Eng - Breen - Cannon - Disruptor

Hello Guys,

My toon is Lvl 58 Romulan KDF and I don't have unlimited resources or anything near it. I would love a Scimitar but it costs real money which I can't expend now.

http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?buil...annon_9351

I am averaging from 3k - 4k dps in Crystalline Catastrophe (Advanced). Going straight to the Crystal and shooting on it only and using auto fire.

With this build which I know is not near high end, I think I should be able to do a lot more. Or not?

So my questions are:

1 - Could I really get more damage with this build?

2 - Could I change it and improve with some "cheap" advices?

3 - Should I be using any special combo or skill order to improve my damage?

Thank you in advance!

Well, I'm not a cannon expert, but I think I can help a bit.  To answer your first question, yes, you can get more out of this build, and you can get started with some fairly cheap fixes.  For starters, you have beam target shields listed in one of your tac slots.  Not sure if this was an error, but it should certainly be replaced. I'd go with another copy of attack pattern beta.  You may also consider replacing rapid fire with another scatter volley, as hitting multiple targets (especially effective with gravity well) will boost your raw dps output.  You may also add a second emergency power to weapons as  you probably experience pretty extreme weapon drain.  That's about it for the cheap fixes.  I see that you have some crtd on your cannons.  That is a good start.  They really aren't effective without also having the locator tac consoles available at the fleet spire.  This will boost your crit rate, allowing you to take advantage of the crtd on those weapons.  That's the first and most important thing I'd look at if you have the resources.  Beyond that looking long term I would just recommend upgrading your gear all around.  The most important aspect of dps is getting your crit rate and crit damage up as high as you can, so look for anything that will help with that.  Also, keep in mind that an optimal crtd/crth ratio is about 10:1, in otherwords if you have 10% crth, you want to have around 100 crtd  (keep in mind that the ship stats do not include your weapon mods so you need to do that calculation yourself).  I hope this helps.

Hi dude,

I really enjoyed your comments and will follow all of them, also thanks for explaining me how is the best way to balance CRTD and CRTH.

I am saving for some locators when I get enough time in clan to be allowed to buy them.

Thank you so much as you helped a lot!

Dear Veebora,
This is a good starter build, and a good platform to build on from. There are three sections which I will advise you on.

1- weapons- I would personally put at least one torpedo on, especially on the front which has a huge dos, and can really damage hulls. You can go with all cannons, but I have found that a hit from a trop with shield down can really hurt enemies ( and I have died a lot from those too). You may want to change from dual cannons to dual heavy cannons, which fire in one burst, which is effective at delivering decisive blows.

2- Abilities- I concur with Martinson that you should replace the useless BT shields with a more potent attack power such as attack pattern beta, or a cannon scatter volley. You may want to actually keep the rapid fire, as I have found that it is a lot more effective at destroying targets than scatter volley, but scatter volley does boost dps. You also may want to get engineering team and science team for hull and shield heals as well, which are needed for an escort.

3- Sets You may want to look into sets for your ship, from the reputation store or from missions. The omega adapted set for a torp, beam weapon and the assimilated module which boost critical chance and severity.

All in all, your current build is a good platform for future expansion and I wish you the best of luck!

Hello Dude, I've updated my loadout to the point it is now.

I indeed use heavy cannons but I didn't realized it was wrong there.

About the skills I've chanced accordly your suggestion and from other people too.

The build you can see now is doing from 4-5k damage in Crystalline mission, I will try the torpedo and see if this will work too.

Thank you very much!!!!
