I would certainly be abusing the Dabo table!

Kairu has the first entry to the contest with 3 big and 7 small bugs Smile

Sounds interesting. That shipyard idea sounds like it'll be a long way off though.

Frankly, at this point, I just want a starbase which we can kind of customize. Decide where the bank/exchange/mail consoles go. Maybe have officers, a meeting room, etc. I'm really excited to see what happens.

Yeah, although most of the people in the KDF side are also on the Fed side. I do like the defending idea too.

So, crafting starbases and shipyards. Sounds like I'll need to start saving up dilithium now! I'm also wondering if the variants will be available with the free ship token from leveling up.

My best guess for bugs? 8 massive "pimple on your prom dates forehead" bugs and 25 small ones.

Thanks for the update. I've been checking the STO website every day or so for the latest news, but I missed this one.

I'm curious about one thing, though. Usually, a major change like this would be Beta tested on Tribble before being released on Holodeck. Not only have I seen no sign of a plan to do this, but the last two times I went on Tribble I appeared to be the only person there. The two new missions, "Colony Defense" and "No Win Scenario" drew some interest when they first came out, but everyone seems to have decided they aren't worth playing on Tribble. Of course, the fact that any rewards you get for playing the missions stay on Tribble may have something to do with the lack of interest, but I seem to recall a lot more people on Tribble for a lot longer when other changes (such as Shooter Mode) came out. When F2P hit, Cryptic set up a major Beta test and announced it well in advance. Now, as far as I can tell, they plan to simply drop fleet star bases on us cold turkey. Since major new systems like this always have a lot of bugs, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't want to work those bugs out before, rather than after, they release the new content in the game.

I just went on Tribble to see what I could find out about the star base missions. Not much, I'm afraid, since I'm not in the fleet on Tribble. However, I did learn a couple of interesting things.

First, although I'm told we have a fleet on Tribble, I could not find it listed in the Tribble fleet directory.

Second, although I'm not in a fleet on Tribble, I now have 10 Fleet Credits, or whatever they're called. Apparently, Cryptic wants to give everyone a head start on getting their fleet projects started.

Third, the C-Store on Tribble is no longer the C-Store. It is now a Zen Store. Interestingly, the prices in Zen are the same as the old C-Point prices, even though Zen has been selling for twenty per cent less than C-points. I thought they might convert the currency on a dollar for dollar basis, which would mean that a hundred C-Points would equal a hundred and twenty-five Zen. Instead, the 4000 C-Points I had on Tribble are now 4000 Zen. That means that my existing C-Points will now buy the same amount of stuff as before the conversion, but (unless they raise the price of Zen) it also means that new purchases of Zen will be cheaper than the same amount of C-Points.

Anyway, if any Tribble fleet members are on line, I would like to be invited to join the Tribble fleet.
My Tribble Characters all have Warburton1881 user names -- [email protected], Jim [email protected], [email protected] and on the KDF side I have [email protected] and, I think, [email protected]. I amy have another character or two on Tribble, but if one of the ones I've listed gets invited into the fleet, I can use that character to invite the rest of my alts into the fleet.

I'm assuming we are planning to use Tribble to practice for the real star base projects that will be coming out later. If not, that's o.k. I have a couple of other things I'm working on right now, nothing that can't be put off until later if there's a Tribble star base in the works.

Just a quick note on the Zen store. The prices right now are exactly the same on tribble, however when Cryptic officially switches to the Zen store on Holodeck, prices will reflect the exchange rate of Zen to C-Points (which is 20%). So pretty much the price of all items in the store will increase by 20%, but so will the amount of Zen you have. In reality there is no difference then what we have now.
