Hi people, I've just gotten back into STO after a pretty long-ass hiatus. Truth be told I forgot when I first joined, but it was way back when Encrypted Data Chips were how you got Mark XII gear from MACO and Omega on Deep Space Nine.
My girlfriend and I are getting back into STO 'cause she loves VOY to death (we're both lifers, actually). We're looking for a community again after our last one collapsed on itself and after our long hiatus.
She goes by @lepetitedauphin and I go by @evertsen. We're usually, but not always, on at the same time (occasionally I pop on her account to rig up DOFFs and reputation).
I guess the main reasons I decided to pop in and say hello were threefold:
-To find a new community, as I said
-To assist new players; funnily enough, this is how I met my girlfriend
-To find an environment suitable for technical writing practice.
I've actually worked on one guide in particular (found at https://www.strategywiki.org/wiki/BSP) that got me official recognition from Eidos. If you play that game, you'll find me in the credits (along with a few other key community members). In light of that, I decided to take technical writing as an actual course, which is what I'm doing now (post-grad certificate).
Anyway, yah.
