PvE Squad / Episode Assistance / Replays
#1
Greetings Fleet!

As your new PvE Squad Leader I just wanted to touch base with you all and let you know what I had in mind. Now I know that many of you have busy lives so we're going to keep this as informal and flexible as possible. We as a Fleet have many new people coming up through the ranks and some of them have requested help with some of the missions. As it turns out the missions are great fun when played with a group and not only that, but when in a group the dynamic changes a bit.

Ok so here's what i have in mind.

Tuesday and Thursday we can get together and replay missions or lend a hand to those that want some help. (Of course we can lend that helping hand at anytime it's asked for Smile )

Sundays we can get together and begin a start to finish (not all in one Sunday) replay of the episodes as a group (or two or three, etc). We start at the first Klingon mission and go until we feel like stopping, someone can make a note where we stop and the next weekend we pick up from there and continue.

Like I mentioned, I want to keep it flexible for those that have busy lives and things going on so that everyone can be included if they wish.

Wow, sitting here just now I had an idea of adding a bit of fun. A battle group or two. 1 Cruiser, 2 Escorts, 2 Science Vessels (or 3 escorts/1 sci). Not sure if we could even set something like that up but it would be interesting to send Battle Group Alpha (or something) off to meet the threat of the Breen or some such lol.

Ok I've gone on about this long enough, it's early here and I haven't had enough coffee yet!

See you all in the stars!

EDIT: On a side note...Technically we wouldn't have to be limited to the episodes since I would think that the Starbase 24 Fleet action, Mirror Universe events, and other such PvE actions would fall under the PvE squad. Sort of "on the fly" with the timed random events but you all get the idea.

Levels don't really matter to me. With the level matching I figure we make the lowest team member the leader and match his/her level (since i've noticed that matching higher lvl doesn't always work well.) In any case any level charactors are more then welcome and encouraged to come and have fun Smile

I keep odd hours but I'm always open to help out when needed. Have all three officer types Fedy (Science RSV) being the highest on the fed. side and Kaytec is an eng. on the KDF side. Even if I'm involved in something Fleet always comes first so just send a holler in chat. /tell, or email my way @SWD75.

Sounds like great fun. I just started a new Fed engi; this will give me an excuse to level her up. It will also give my primary Fed a chance to get some loot to sell. I wouldn't mind taking a level 50 through the episodes again matching a lower level! I love taking out klinks, and with a level 50 sci backing up the battle group you guys can't die! I should be available on Sundays to join in.

I just worry about a player missing a weekend, and then not being able to play next weekend with a group because they don't have access to the mission the group is running. It's not a big problem because the solo player can always make up what he/she missed.

Well, I have an idea. Yes i know the thinking must have hurt, and it did Smile

Today after the maintenance is over and for a good portion of the rest of the day, I'd like to see if we can find someone who is looking for assistance and move a "battle group" in to help them out. Even if it's just for one mission, I'd like to see how it would play out. Once everyone is together in a team we would make the person who we are assisting the leader and match His or Her level. As many of you know this is a must. If the lowest persons level is not matched the battles become impossible to enjoy for that person, as most of the mission they spend it respawning. Not much fun in that at all trust me lol been there.

Now my thinking on a battle group formation would look something like this:

1 Cruiser
3 Escort
1 Science

1 Cruiser
2 Escort
2 Science

2 Cruiser
2 Escort
1 Science

I think we can change the group pretty fluidly depending on what ship the person we are helping is flying. I myself now have at least one of each ship class and one of each Federation Career Officer so it's very easy for me to fill any gap in a group, and i know many of us are set up in the same manner.

Now this may or may not work. It all depends on how many people are available, and if anyone wants our help. Regardless, I will be on and lending a hand where needed so just look for me.

Ok, Saturday I'd like to set up an all day episode run starting with "Stranded in Space". I'll create a Fleet Event for this and we can see who turns up. If we get a lot of interest in this we can run multiple groups. This is just a "kick back, relax and have fun" type of thing. Should you want to try the battle group idea, hey fine, if not...well also fine lol. Come as you are, smash some ships, shoot some bad guys, put on an EV suit and roast some marshmallows over the burning hulks of our enemies!

Qua'Plah!

I'm interested to try the battle group idea. For those who may be reading this thread and not convinced; I've done missions with cpc, and together we are an unstoppable force! Borg

I'm hopping on the game for a little bit now.

Well I'd like to report that Saturday's event, while not with the turnout I had hoped, was quite a lot of fun. We had a full team and pounded a few Klingon missions. We'll try this again in a couple weeks with a different episode line (don't want to get burned out on replays all at once). Also, while not being able to nail down an exact time to do the various fleet action events, such as Mirror Universe, Starbase 24, etc.. I'd like to try to organize some sort of run for those.

For those of you that were able to attend the event Saturday, Thank You for a fun time.
For those of you who were unable to make it, There will be other events of this nature so don't worry, you didn't miss out Smile

Remember, teaming the missions is a lot of fun so consider giving a hand to those climbing the ranks, or just rounding up a random team for a change of pace.
