Chris

PS:> Going to get a light package for it?
It will be named to match my Fleet Excelsior B in the game, but I don't think we have any way to get a decent fleet logo on a decal.  Every time i try decal paper, I seem to waste my time.

Similar light package to the first ship, but better know how behind the installation this time.  Additional marker lights will be present as will lit hull windows.

And the Excelsior build will go back to its box for a bit. Lights came in for the 1701 refit this morning.

Now the hard part.  Getting past a really vicious cold so I have energy to work on the ship.

Trekmodeler team certainly packages things carefully.  Wasn't any confusion about which part of the piles of wires, circuit boards and LED went to which part of the ship.

Two modes of lighting controlled by a toggle switch.  They actually recommend that you do this.

I chose a simple portion of the ship to start light installation.  I'm pretty badly under the weather this week so it's a tad rough to concentrate.

I try.  It helps that increased age has also increased patience in this area as well. I stillhave to make myself slow down and do things right on occasion, rather than getting "good enough".  Mostly because "good enough" usually isn't!

Picking at the upper primary hull today.  Not everything is tacked into place yet s I still have a few holes to drill.  Dremel ran out of go juice so I elected to get things placed that could be placed and make some sens out of the rest.

I'll take that as quite the compliment. Smile

You don't want to know what professional or "studio grade" model builds are selling for these days.  Holy crap! I could buy a car....

Here's a bit more of the upper hull in process.  Getting there....

Glad you are taking it as it was intended. You might be able to get work doing this for studios if you tried to.

Nah, I'd get bored of it right fast then.  I'm an old computer/robotics tech geek anyhow.  That I can leave at the office.

Professional model building would always have this "what if I tried..." thing going in my head.  Does that enough with what I build for fun!
