Fleet Tournament

I'd like to hold a friendly PvP tournament in the fleet. The first place winner will get 500,000 EC from the fleet bank. The only requirement is that you must be level 50. Besides that, anything goes.

This will be a space PvP tournament.

I strongly encourage everyone who is level 50 or will be level 50 soon to participate. This tournament is more than just about winning. It will teach you about your play style, what to improve, and also give you a chance to interact with the fleet.

If you are interested simple reply to this post with the name of your character who will be participating and your handle (account name). For example, if my character Eight will participate then I would reply with Eight@Attilio (character@handle).

You have until Tuesday March 20th to sign up.

Everyone will be randomly paired up with an opponent for Round 1. Whoever wins Round 1 will move to Round 2. We'll keep doing this until there is only 1 winner remaining.

Remember this is a friendly tournament, lets keep it that way. I will disqualify and/or remove someone from the fleet if they take things too far.

We'll hold it over a course of a few days in order to account for time differences, and so we don't have to rush. I'll add this info to the post above.

I'd be happy to help administer/coordinate this event, but I'm afraid I will not be participating. I tend to get somewhat heated or frustrated at PvP events. I know my own limitations, and unfortunately this is it. I win very gracefully, but I don't lose that well. Quite frankly my sci ship simply cannot adequately compete with the likes of the dedicated attack ships or heavy hitters out there.

Since this is a tournament, perhaps there should be brackets for the different classes of ships. Escort, Cruiser, Science bracket, maybe even a shuttle bracket! The problem comes when merging the classes at the end to pick an overall winner. It might not work for that reason.

Do we have any level 50 KDF characters in the fleet that might participate? It's be interesting to see how balanced that is. I hear the Bortas is a beast. ; )

I'll let you know if I need any help. It doesn't look like we are going to have enough entries for different brackets unfortunately. However, after this one we could hold a shuttle PvP tournament with 2 player teams (2vs2 PvP). We'll see what happens. I don't want to get ahead of ourselves.
