Only thing i run different normall is I use Scorpion Fighters instead of Satelite Turrets usually but I ran out of them and havent gotten around to getting more yet.

Use the Print Screen button to take a screen shot without the HUD. I don't know how to take one with the HUD on. I'm still figuring that one out myself.

i'm new to STO and have not had time to complete this build but would appreciate some guidance/feedback



obviously i'm focusing on weapons and tactical consoles first, the rest is just loot that seemed reasonable. any recommendations for what the other consoles and devices should be?

For that build I would consider using Photon torps instead of quantum. They have a faster fire rate, and since you seem to be focused on frontal assault, you would be able to fire off more torpedoes. Secondly look to upgrade your Mk X consoles soon. The benefits may be small, but you just might find it worth the crafting mats or energy credits.

The above is just my personal opinion, and not a hard fact. I am by no means the authoritative expert on STFs or space combat in general.

McWill this is the perfect place to post it. As to quantums vs photons depends on what your boff abilities are. If you are using Torp spread a lot then quantums give a better higher damage spread, if not then photons are better as they have higher dps ussually.

Also have you considered using MACO shield instead of borg shield? Personally i prefer it as the shield is better for tanking then borg shield and I dont feel the tractor you get from having all four set items.

I do use torp spread aswell as cannon scatter volly i think its called. i'm often on guard duty and the combo of the 2 seem to rofl probes. photon dps sounds nice though, perhaps i'll get another turn rate console and some photons and keep them in my inventory to switch to when needed?

I have a MACO MKXI set i can use, shall i take only the shields or something else aswell to get the bonus?

If you are set up as guard i would keep the quantums for the high spread damage. Also Just use the shield form MACO. The 3 piece bonus from the borg set is very powerful.

Close enough to what this thread is for Briansun1. Here are some thoughts, and while most of these are not as important since its a Tier 3 ship, they will become more so later on.

First pick one damage type. If I am correctly identifying everything you have disruptor, polaron, and either retro-phaser or Tetryon for energy types. You can maximize your damage only by picking one type of Energy damage and then running the Tactical consoles for that specific type of damage.

Second you have multiple arc types, which isn't necessarily bad, however your cannons and torps are only effective when you are facing your target where as your aft beam arrays are only useful when broadside to your enemy or if they are in your rear. I would recommend trying to get as much damage going into a single type of arc, either fore or broadside, however that is a personal preference of mine.

Third consoles look good though I would recommend one change. As you have it set up now I would run a general energy damage boost Tac console or switch to a single energy type and run the damage boost console for that energy type. Since you only have one tactical console it is better used boosting your energy damage as that is where most of your damage comes from.

Last I would redo the mission that gives the Deflector you have so you can get the Mk VI version. When you have different Mk ? of set items like that they do not work with the other set items for the set bonuses. So currently you are only getting the set bonus of having two of those items even though you have all three.
