Mission: Traelus System - Satellite Repair/Walkthrough

Healed Hulks

Go To Traelus System
Go to the Traelus system. Be sure you chose to Enter the Traelus system rather than entering the PvP queues when you get there.

Science Officer: Captain, the satellites in this system are part of an advanced warning network that signals if enemy ships are approaching Federation space through this sector. Starfleet lost contact with the network 47 hours ago. It could be an equipment malfunction, but it could also be sabotage. Both the Klingons and the True Way could take advantage of holes in our sensor nets to attack the Federation.

Scan and repair the satellites.

Scan Satellite Podarge
Head to the first satellite and scan it once you are close enough.

Engineering Officer: I've found the problem in this satellite, sir -- there are damaged components blocking operation of the EPS system. We can repair it, but we need to avoid damaging it further.

We need to be careful in what order we carry out the necessary repairs.

Perform Maintenance on Satellite Podarge
Satellite Podarge Maintenance options (order matters):

Replace Damaged Fuses
Realign Soler Panel Array
Alter Electro-Plasma Flow Rate
Initialize Subspace Dampening Field

Three of the options must be performed in the correct order:
Replace Damaged Fuses
Alter Electro-Plasma Flow Rate
Initialize Subspace Dampening Field
Realign Soler Panel Array can be performed at any time in the sequence

Fix Damaged Satellite Podarge
They're not kidding about damaging it further. Perform the maintenance steps in the wrong order and you'll fail the objective, which will be replaced with the objective to fix the damage you just caused.

Engineering Officer: The power coupling blew!
We're going to need to replicate a replacement part, and unfortunately, I don't have all the necessary materials on board. Luckily, there's a thorium-rich asteroid nearby. We'll have to destroy it to get at the ore, but we should get enough material to replicate the new part.

Collect thorium ore.

Destroy Thorium Rich Asteroid
There is a nearby thorium-rich asteroid which will provide the raw materials you need. It is fairly simple to destroy it as you approach.

Collect Thorium from Asteroid Debris
Once the asteroid is destroyed, fly withing a couple kilometers of the debris to gather the thorium.

Replace Damaged Circuitry with Thorium Replacement
Return to Satelite Podarge to perform repairs.

Science Officer: The satellite is operational again, Captain.

We are ready to move on to the next damaged array.

Scan Satellite Ocypete
Move along to the next satellite and scan it once you get near.

Engineering Officer: I see the problem, sir.

The damage to this satellite is due mainly to simple wear and tear on its systems. Once we take care of these minor repairs, it will be fully operational.

Perform Maintenance on Satellite
Ocypete Satellite Ocypete Maintenance options (order does not matter):

Patch Computer Matrix
Replace Capacitance Cell
Upgrade Radiometric Converter

Science Officer: We have re-established contact and the signal is strong, Captain.

I recommend that we begin work on the next array.

Scan Satellite Aello
Head to the final satellite and scan it once you are near enough.

Engineering Officer: This satellite has taken a significant hit, Captain. It could have been a meteor, but there are residual antiprotons .... There's too much damage to repair remotely. We'll need to send over a repair team. There's atmosphere inside the array still, so they should be OK.

Send a repair team to the satellite.

Beam Over Repair Crews
Beam over some repair crews while you are close enough to the satellite to do so. All will be well for a few seconds, until...

Protect Satellite Aello From True Way Squadrons

Tactical Officer: True Way ships approaching! We need to protect the repair teams on that satellite!
A squadron of True Way starships will warp in and target the satellite while your repair teams are on it.

If Satellite Aello is destroyed, the mission will fail. You must successfully defend it. Draw their fire away from it, and destroy them. Before you have defeated all of the first squadron, another squadron will warp in and attack the satellite as well.

Tactical Officer: No enemy targets on sensors, sir.

I'll notify the away team that we can transport them back to the <Shipname> as soon as they have completed their repairs.

Repair Satellite Aello

Science Officer: The repair teams are reporting that they've completed their maintenance on the satellite and are ready to return to the ship. We can energize on your command, sir.

Transport the repair team back to your ship.
Now that things are quiet once more, head back to Satellite Aello to pick up your repari crews.

Beam Up Repair Crews Federation

Science Officer: All the repairs are complete, sir.

The signals are strong, and we will be prepared for an attack on our borders by the True Way or the Klingons.

Beam aboard your away teams and you are ready to depart the system.

Return to Sector Space

Tactical Officer: We are ready to depart the system on your orders, Captain.

Leave the system.

Report to Neutral Zone Contact
Hail your Neutral Zone contact to report the success of your mission.

Franklin Drake: Thank you.

The Klingons tried to subvert those satellites for their own use once. I'm pleased that you have stopped another attempt to subvert our early warning system.

I found this walk though by accident. it came up in a search on mission for a hint. I do need help with this mission. I hope someone be online and avabile to help monday or tuesday. I come close but each time I get destroyed and when I respawn the satillite is destroyed.

I'd be glad to help.

Are you facing too many enemies at once? That could be why you are getting destroyed.

I, too, would like help. I think I've heard of this mission. Where is it and what front?

Anyway, thanks for the walk-through, Robert! Big Grin

PS What rank are you? We could team together, if nothing else!

Hello! I thought I would share some tips on the mission.

#1 - always run dilithium grind missions on Normal (unless you're a masochist). I typically do all my missions on Elite, and sometimes forget to switch back for the Dil grind, typically with sad results.

#2 - the spawn order and types of spawns after beaming over your away team:

A short time after beaming over your away team, two ships will spawn about 15 klicks away from Satellite Aello, and some distance apart from each other. Typically they are either two Galor cruisers, or a Galor and a Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort. They will approach the station and attack it.

After one of these is destroyed, three more True Way ships will spawn and attack the satellite. These will be in one of the following configurations:

3 Jem'Hadar Attack Ships
2 Attack Ships, 1 Hideki
1 Attack Ship, 2 Hideki

The Hideki can generally be ignored until last, as they really don't do a lot of damage on Normal.

***

My strategy with a science character:

I charge one of the two incoming cruisers, usually the Galor, and ignore the other one. I try to kill it as swiftly as possible. When it goes down, I hit Photonic Fleet and rush the incoming ships, taking a few pot-shots at the remaining cruiser to grab aggro. When I get within 10K of the incoming ships, I try to slow 'em down, either with gravity well or my trusty Graviton Pulse Generator (Fed version). Then I finish off the remaining cruiser, turn back to the Attack Ships, take them out, leaving the Hideki (if any) for last.

Strategies for Tactical and Engineers:

For tactical characters in escorts, kill everything that moves, quickly. Generally not a problem. Engineers have a few more potential tricks up their sleeves with regard to slowing and debuffing opponents, but with a beam boat cruiser, can also dish out enough damage to render such tricks largely irrelevant in this mission.

I hope that helps, and good luck!

I think that the other ships spawn on an event rather than a timer - so switch between the current targets and get them low before you take one out, like we do in ISE with the generators. You take more damage per wave this way, but won't face 1.2 waves at a time.

Please correct me if I'm wrong on the idea that it's not on timer, but I think that it is often the case that when one wave is almost all gone, the next spawns - even if the one ship left if full strength.
