Hi,

I'm a returning player trying to relearn the game. I play whenever i free time. I enjoy STO and Sci-Fi genre. Currently trying to work on a new fed tactical. I was wondering if I could get some advice on quick leveling. Hope to chat with everyone ingame and make new friends.

Hi there folks. I guess I'm sort of reviving this thread by posting, but I just wanted to introduce myself to anyone who's wondering about the new guy.

My name is Jim and I just joined the fleet and STO very recently. I play a Fed tac Vulcan named Sirok, so that's me if you see the name pop up in chat. I'm 36, married, one daughter, and live in the Philadelphia area. This is my first experience with a mmorpg and I'm definitely enjoying it. I've been a Trek fan since I was 10 or so, and I like the way this game immerses you in that universe. I'm currently just lvl 19 (shortly to be 20 - woot!) and playing on normal mode for now, but I'm trying to move up as fast as I can so I can join in with the more experienced players in STF's and other fleet actions. I'm also trying to contribute to the starbase and new embassy as much as I can, but being as new as I am, I don't have a lot of resources, but anytime I can spare something I'll pass it on. I'd also like to say thanks to you veterans for patiently answering my noob questions and not making me feel like a noob. That's definitely made me feel welcome in the fleet and makes me want to level up and contribute even more. I am definitely enjoying the social aspect of the game and fleet as I don't have a lot of time or money for a real social life (lol).

So that's me in a nutshell. Whenever I'm playing, feel free to say hi or whatever. I'm definitely a friendly guy and willing to do whatever I can to make the fleet better. See you in-game.

Hello! It looks like I may be your most recent recruit. My name is David, but I use Chogokin as my internet alias pretty much everywhere. In chat, most people prefer to abbreviate that to "Chogo," which is fine by me.

I am really old for a gamer, 'nuff said. I've been playing MMO's for a fairly long time. I started with the guild Cadre Quietus, playing Shadowbane (although I'm not personally much for PvP), later spent a lot of time in City of Heroes, and since then I've moved around a lot, mostly solo, sometimes guilded. I started playing STO not too long after it began, when I received a 10-day free trial with some computer stuff I ordered from New Egg. I enjoyed it a lot, and managed to get my main Federation character into the '30's, as well as starting a Klingon. I decided at the time that the game was too addictive, and went cold turkey when the trial period was over. I came back when the game went F2P. I played for several months, then left again in August, largely because of real world time constraints. I discovered that my brother had started playing the game in December, so I logged back in, and swiftly rediscovered my addiction.

I'm located on the East Coast of the U.S., so my typical play hours are from after 7 to whenever in the evenings, EST. Sometimes you'll see me on in the mornings, but generally just for a few minutes to check on DOFF missions. You'll likely see me on tonight, trying to get the voice chat system set up.

Hello STO members

Well, talking about update, update and update again. This game has come a long way. I bought a lifetime subscription at launch but after a few months of playing, a few friends of mine and me left the game. I did not really give STO a chance, being an EVE-online player at the same time. Now that my adventure with EVE-online is finish, I decided to come back to STO. What a great decision!

I must admit, that my toon maybe a couple of years old, but he’s completely lost in this new universe. This is where I need the expertise and friendship of STO Academy players. I must say, you guys are very organized (Beautiful site) and make this game feel like it’s a true world! Bravo…

As you may have notice, I’m a French speaking person but had the chance to learn English. I’m 53 yrs old, and my homeland is Quebec City, Canada. I have a family and work in computer security. Well, that’s it for me.

Can’t wait to fly by your side…

Hello STO Academy!

I guess I'm a little late in Introducing myself. So here goes

My character names are Irle, Yiri, and Spicy (@wardogg5). My real name is Dale (and no that is not a woman's/unisex name) I'm 24 years old and from Minnesota. I have been a big science fiction fan my whole life. With that said I mean I was a Star Wars fan... untill a few months ago when I started watching/re-watching VOY, TNG, DS9 and TOS. Now I can't get enough of Star Trek!

I very much enjoy STO and am so glad I can be a part of STOA. I was in a fleet for a little while that had very few active members (they were all off playing LOL or some three letter acronym games). So when I found that skill planner and a forum that was not only helpful but frequently updated I knew this was where I should be!

Enough about me. If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me in game (I'm online more than is probably healthy).

See you in gameSmile

I guess I'll go ahead and jump in here. In most places I use the username of celticwolf72, but the real name is Adrian. I'm a 40 year old physics major, slowly working towards a BS then a PhD in Astrophysics. I'm an old MMO player, starting with Meridian 59, then moving to EQ when Quellious opened up. I'm a former member of Dragonsbane when I was in EQ. I've also done SWG on Sentinels (Pre-CU), City of Heroes, WoW, Rifts, Eve Online, and currently due Champions Online and STO... both with lifetime subscriptions. While I'm fairly good with the solo play, I am willing to work on my team play.

My play times vary due to obligations (school, Society for Creative Anachronism, Civil Air Patrol), but I am willing to play with folks when I have the time. During the week, I'm normally on around mid-day to evening, and on the weekends I'll be on just about any time. Oh, and I'm Pacific Time Zone (GMT -8).

My toons in the Militia are:

Fiachra [email protected] - Human Tac Officer(50) - Odyssey Tactical Cruiser
M'[email protected] - Catian Tac Officer(22) - Heavy Escort
M'[email protected] - Catian Sci Officer(13) - Science Vessel
M'[email protected] Fiachra - Catian Eng Officer(1) - Constitution Light Cruiser

I will be adding one toon to the Legion (and probably another later):

V'[email protected] - Ferasan Tac Officer(50) - Peghgu' Heavy Destroyer

Feel free to message me either here or in game. I'm always happy to talk with folks. I look forward to seeing you all in game.

Hello folks!

I came into STO just this past November and quickly got hook, line, and sinker addicted. Found myself using the STOA website as a resource quite a bit and decided that the somewhat "dead" fleet I was in no longer made the cut. So I pulled the trigger and applied for the Militia this week. Thanks for the fast add!

I can be found on

Zane Karban (Fed Tactical, VA) Multiple Ship Types. Zane darn near has his own fleet!
Diana Dane (Fed Science, Captain) Sci Vessel or Excelsior Class
K'leela Re'stagh (KDF Tactical, Captain) BCs

Obviously Zane is my lead, but I get tired of staring at his backside on ground missions after a while so Diana and K'leela resolve that issue! Big Grin

I'll add another Tac Captain when the Romulan faction launches and tuck in an Engineer somewhere. Just haven't decided where yet.

Hey gang, well thought I would add myself to this list of intro's.

Real names Eric and I'm currently living in central North Carolina. I'm 40 years old since this past July. (Never thought I would make it this far.) Like just about all of us I've been a huge Trek fan since I was a kid, all thanks to my Dad. I started playing STO not long after it came out, and even have the collector tin that the game came in way back when. (A Christmas gift from my wife that year). I just returned withing the last month when it went free to play. I had to stop playing due to financial issues. However, now that it's free to play I've been on everyday for as long as I can. That is after family and work, of course LOL

Currently I have two characters in the fleet.

1st. Galen a Caitian male TAC officer (Vice Admiral) flying a Patrol Escort.
Of course when I made this guy I had not found STOA yet and had him spec all wrong so I started a new Main. I might switch this guy to a KDF character here shortly.

2nd. M'Kont Another Caitian TAC officer (Captain lvl30) flying a Defiant Class .
This furball I'm following the path I should have taken Galen if I had found the great build for a Patrol Escort.

3rd KeeLek a Romulan TAC officer lvl41 as of now allied with the FED.

So far I'm enjoying my time with the Fleet and look forward to meeting more of you all both in game and here in the forums. Cool
