Will there ever be a refit/retrofit and fleet version of the T6 Oddy?
#1
With the upcoming T6 Command Assault Cruiser- Vizier Class (acquired by way of the Attack Wing promo) and the T6 Intel Assault Cruiser- Archon Class, I'm wondering will there be an Oddy refit/retrofit and fleet version coming? (I also wouldnt mind seeing what they came up for the Aquarius "large" bridge, and if there will ever be other bridge designs for the Oddy class...well, I mean it IS supposed to be the current "flag ship", riiiiight??). Also, (got this craving to mention) will there ever EVER be better skins for the nacalles for the Oddy and Assault cruisers?? (Many, including myself have raised our "vulcan brow" at the lack of appealing aesthetics (looks, skins- what ever you wanna call it) when it comes to these ships' nacelle designs in particular. I wish there was a way for those of us that play STO who happen to be visual artists to be allowed to "encourage" Criptic developers to let us come up with some SERIOUS design ideas (I would definitely get in on THAT one!) I really REALLY hope that there will be more to come with the T6 Oddy (sorry, I'm a die-hard T6 Oddysey fan, THAT'S the reason I really dove into STO in the first place!- I was "testing" out STO around the time they announced the up coming release of the T6 Oddy class on the C-Store and getting that bundle pack was the main reason I bought a lifetime membership (my birthday was also coming up, too....). Anyhoo, what's the deal with only being able to get the "Command" version of the Sov through the Attack wing expansion? Will we be able to get that version on the C-Store too, or are we only going to be allowed to buy the Intel version? (and what gives, with the NO science seat crap?? Ok, I can dig the universal seat, but I'd trade a tac seat for a sci seat- I've been really pouring into getting my BOff science officers up to par, lately (BLUE SHIRTS, RULE!!!!- sorry red shirts).
I'm soooo praying for a T6 Oddy retrofit with a universal temporal operative seat!!

The question I put to you is - Why would the Fleet's flagship, need a fleet version?

There was no fleet versions of the T5 ships, and this follows suit with the Pilot Escorts and the Command Battlecruisers that follow a specific specialisation and do not have fleet versions (Intel ships had their own fleet versions as they came out at launch with Delta Rising and catered to the 3 original careers more aptly).

I second your response for designers to be able to input to cryptic - but then you would have a flood of thousands of people sending Cryptic stuff. They work closely with CBS for these things in terms of licensing the product as well, so you would only find yourself in a legal furore, and not giving Cryptic the chance to do something about it. Every ship would then become a "Design the next Enterprise" competition, or what happened with the Jupiter science carrier, and that isn't really something thats conducive to them.

We are allowed to buy the Intel version - it's just the Command version thats with that Attack Wing promo - a bit ridiculous if you ask me with how they have done it, but thats up to them - and any collaboration to get more people in to the game or any other kind of trek I think is a good one, so I think the benefits outweigh the negatives on that one.

The No science seat crap? You don't sound too concerned about it lol. It's an assault cruiser, not a science cruiser! Although I know it is a bit bothersome - perhaps something that will just have to be used for the Universal/Intel station!

I think you're on to something with that promo statement, (which is why I just speculated that Criptic may wait to release the command sov in a bundle pack..... *@warrynnpeese gritting teeth*).

I'm STILL not giving up on my prayer for a "retrofitted" T6 Oddy with a universal temporal operative command seat with a large version of the aquarius bridge, though!- well, WHY wouldn't I?, it's my FAVORITE ship!!- unless Criptic gives us an "Enterprise G" Wink

There won't be any Fleet Variants, because they already have the Fleet-Bonus baked into them.
Non-Fleet Ships have 10 Console Slots, while Fleet Ships receive - next to some stats boosts - one extra slot.
All T6 Bundle Ships (Flagships, Command, Intel & Pilot) are already final "Fleet" versions of these ships and therefore have 11 Console Slots and higher stats.

In comparison the new Archon and Vizier Class T6 ships only start out with 10 Console Slots, and therefore can be upgraded to "Fleet" versions to receive the 11th slot.

Sooo....in other words I guess I shouldn't be such an "Oddy groupie", huh? (You think they would at least give the T6 Oddys some more "skins" and bridge variants, though? Don't get me wrong- I really dig the Aquarius bridge, but I was wondering if there will be other versions -I've been holding back on some of my "christmas resources" in anticipation of something new in the line up over the winter).
Another Q for you, also: what would you consider as the best BOff set-up for the Sci Oddy, and would you recommend I continue with using the Iconian set (or would it be worth the time and resource to build up the temporal set?)

The opposite: The Oddy is awesome! I think it's great you don't need to upgrade it!
The Sci-Oddy is currently the highest DPS Ship the Federation has, at least according to several forums and the DPS League. It looks awesome, too.
And it is the Flagship of the Federation, so it's totally legit to be a Oddy Fan!

About the skins: since 11.5 each ship has Visual Slots, which lets you use Space Sets just for their visual appearance, not their stats! See HERE
This already gives you some nice options.

As for the 'best' BOFF setup, I am certainly the last one to ask, as I'm still learning the ropes, too.
But ask yourself first:
What is your goal? Do you want to maximize DPS? Or do you want a Jack-of-all-Trades? Do you focus on Solo or Group Play?
Maybe you are more of a supporter?
This game is highly complex, and lets you do a lot.
But what I know:
- Your Boffs don't need to be Purple to have great traits
- You look for Boffs with certain traits, like Efficient, Pirate and Superior Romulan Operative.

Examples:
- the Blue Male Romulan Tactical Officer from the Fleet Embassy has Infiltrator and Superior Romulan Operative, and is considered the best Tactical Ship Boff
- You can get THIS great (but ugly) Hierarchy Science Boff as a mission reward - he comes with Pirate and Efficient

Last but not least: The Iconian Space is currently considered  'the best', due to high stats and the auto debuffs.
Some say just to use 3 parts, and the Romulan Advanced Prototype Impulse Engines instead, as it boosts damage.
But then you miss out on the 4 set bonus. Really up to you what stats you favor.

Hope that helps!

Whoa.....I did not know about the Rom BOff! (And as far as the Iconian set, I was wondering if anyone ever mix-matched with the temporal set.....
-the warp core has a max warp of 14 w/ 7.5% aux power to weapons with added weapons bonus
-the temp combat engines add a +5 to weapons and removes a hazard debuff
-and the deflector is VERY decent when it comes to hull and shield restoration
-and the shields regenerate at a faster rate
but the only problem is....the set bonus on the temp set, AND sacrificing the Iconian set bonus just for these improvements, not to mention what the Iconian warp core can do as far as the "hot restart" feature.... stand alone each Iconian set piece doesnt compare to the temp set, but as a full set, the bonus is yummy- but like I'm struggling with REALLY wanting to use the temporal warp core, impulse engines and deflector (which is virtually the whole set, minus the shields). I also looked at the Rom impulse engines you mentioned and the shield regen flight speed and weapon amp are looking tasty, but the temp impulse can basically match the rom impulse in shield regen (as long as BOffs are set up right) when the debuff kicks in when using captain and BOff heals to hull- which, for some reason I worry about losing more so than shields, (BUT.... that Rom weapon amp feature is REALLY singing to me right now).
So, I'm hoping the Temporal deflector and warp core with the Iconian shields and Romulan Advanced impulse will do the trick, yeah? (did we just create a kick-ass recipe, or is it back to the lab for a different type of frankenstein?)

On it's own I would take the Temp over the Iconian Warp Core any time. The bonuses are better.
That Warp Speed and Sector Speed Bonus would be nice-to-have for 'Tour the Galaxy', too.
(but for that one you just get the Mission Reward Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core for the reduced Slipstream CD).

Depending on your Science Consoles the Temporal Deflector might be great due to the "+17.5 Starship Exotic Particle Generator" skill bonus. Or if you have a Exotic Damage set up.

But that Iconian 3pc Set Bonus... just too good to skip. Especially because it's a team buff, too.
Neither of them can reach that damage boost, and the 2pc set bonus makes up a bit for the lesser Hull Regen.

I wonder if the Rom Impluse Engine bonus tops the Temp Warp Core. You could choose either one of those
and still get 3 Iconian set pieces. Or you go with the Deflector.
Really up to you Big Grin

Well Im using two plasma gen weapon sig amps w/ShHeal and two w/EPG, (so I guess you see my dilemma with breaking up the Iconian set at the deflector vs warp core) *sigh* decisions, decisions...
