Thank you all very much

Information
My fellow Fleet mates,

as of today I have been a member for a total of 1,521 days and in 941 of those days, I had the honor, pleasure and privilege to be a part of this Fleet's leadership.

What most of you probably don't know is that I have been unemployed that whole time. And that is why I take this opportunity to say "Thank you!".

I want to thank each and every one of you. I do this from the bottom of my heart, because without STO and without STOA, things might be quite different for me today.

Apart from my daily efforts to get a job, STO gave me focus and a purpose. It prevented me from becoming insane due to the despair that comes with unemployment. Thusly, you all helped me to keep my sanity.

You probably ask yorself "Where is this coming from now?" and I gladly answer this question.

You see this very morning, I finally signed a contract of employment and starting monday, I will be working in Public Administration of the City of Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Ironically, I will be calculating and granting unemployment benefits.

You won't get rid of me though. I'll still be around for the occasional Fleet run. Big Grin

Anyway, thank you all again. I don't know, what might have become of me without you.

Live long and prosper!

TP

TP,

Congratulations! Many of us (myself included) understand the pain of unemployment and I'm glad you were able to find a good job.  I also work in a public-service job and it is very rewarding.

I hope you'll be around whenever we attempt an HGE or HSE run.  We need your DPS! Big Grin

I can't wait to hear the details as you get rolling, and also to see what they think of the innovative spreadsheets you will create to streamline the calculating and granting unemployment benefits process!
Thanks Chris. My "innovative spreadsheets" would make the day. LOL. Unfortunately, I don't see much need for them, as their software is pretty much taking care of it. Wink
