Star Trek Online: Agents of Yesterday Announcement | Star Trek Online
#21
The sheer destruction from the Hobus supernova has weakened the barrier between our reality and one strangely similar to our own, leaving a strange temporal anomaly in its wake. This anomaly serves as a gateway between our universe… and a quantum universe both similar and different to our own. Interdimensional travel between these two realms is now a possibility… as the crew of the U.S.S. Kelvin found out to their dismay…

Players will soon be able to journey to the alternate reality seen in Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. A new mission awaits our captains there, along with other exciting surprises!

Does this excursion into the JJ-verse include a liberal amount of lens flares?

I do, however, like the bridge design.  I'm glad it's being included.

Meanwhile, Romulans still wait on one single Bridge Pack and the ability to display their Trophies....

Not to mention the Romulans still lack a proper carrier (one with two hangar bays) or a T6 Science Vessel.  The only "sciency" T6 Romulan ships are the Science Dreadnought Warbird (5 Sci Consoles), the Science Command Warbird (LtCdr Sci Station and 4 Sci Consoles), and the Science Pilot Warbird (LtCdr Sci Station, Lt Universal, and 4 Sci Consoles).  If you want a Commander Science Station and 5 Science consoles you're stuck with cross-faction ships and T5-U upgrades (Dyson Science Warbirds and Fleet Ha'nom, IIRC).

Don't even get me started on the KDF side...

According to the Priority One Podcast when they sat down for a very lengthy interview with Cryptic Lead Designer Al Rivera about Agents of Yesterday, they published the following notes.  (I haven't listened to the podcast....)

Here is the podcast: http://priorityonepodcast.com/po269/
Here are the notes: http://massivelyop.com/2016/05/11/sevent...yesterday/

New captains will only be able to pick races that make sense for TOS era, so no Bajoran, Cardassians, etc. Also, Klingons and Romulans will not be playable then because TOS was mostly about the Federation.

Other interesting bits-

Cryptic did consider creating a new TOS game but decided that an expansion was a better idea because they didn’t want to split the community.

Cryptic is in talks with CBS about the upcoming 2017 Star Trek series and working with them, but nothing is set in stone yet. They may or may not be doing something together.

Yeah, I read that too... I was thinking about a possible pack, but I'm out now. I'll play it, but that is disappointing that Klinks and Roms get the snub.
