Space STF Ship Builds (Pics)

I second Messor's observations. I would narrow down those energy weapons as soon as you can. For that ship, I would consider using beam arrays as you can get some good broadside damage with it. Keep one torpedo either front or rear for when they come across your bow or stern. And yes, replay the mission that gives the shield, I think it's "Boldly They Rode" so you get the full set bonus. You can also replay other missions that give good weapons and use that to outfit your ship. Peek through the fleet bank and see if somebody has put a weapon of that type in there. Don't spend too much money, or crafting mats on your weapons now, as you'll be in a new ship before you know it. I made that mistake with my Fed Engi, I spend a lot of money, and crafting materials getting great stuff for the Commander level escort, and it worked great for about half a series. Then I had to start all over with a new ship.

Well, I've decided to post my build on here for feedback as well. This ship is going to be primarily used for STF's. I only have 1 borg weapon right now, because quite frankly the tech and salvage drops have been totally nerfed the past week or so :x . Anyway, I've envisioned this ship as the tank/off-tank and I'm pretty pleased so far. Yesterday I tanked a tac cube and didn't go poof :o Anyway, if anyone can help me tweak this, I'd appreciate it.

Looks good. I would recommend the MACO Shield if you can ever get the tech to drop, I know all about the nerfed rates lol. Also i would personally drop the cloak, at least for stfs, and replace it with a quantum damage bonus console. Finally for the science slots have you looked at the Field Emitter, the one that gives +18% shields (damn cryptic and its nerfing), it is a bit pricey but still worth it i think.

Good advice. The nerfed rates are beginning to really bug me. Khitomer drops the shield right? I can never remember. The way things have been lately, I'm lucky to get a salvage, much less tech. I have not found the emitter that you speak of. Unless your talking about a shield emitter amplifier and I think that only increases the shield repair from batteries and Boff skills. Unless that is the one, and I'm missing it's usefulness. I dropped the cloaking device and the torp from the front. I've got all cannons up front now. I'll have to pick a better spot to put evasive maneuvers in to keep my front toward the enemy. Especially with Spheres who use their epte3 a lot. I put my build on the site here http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillpla...dread_1041 if anyone wants to see it.

Currently the tech and salvage tables are broken. They are not dropping like they should. The emmiters I am talking about are crafted I believe but not 100% sure. Either crafted or dillithium store as I remember they took quite a bit of dilithium to get. And no the emitter actually increases your shields by 18%

I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the info. Is there a place I can go to see what the benefits are to having the classic Borg set, vs. the MACO set?(e.g. what those names like "regeneration sequencer" mean) I got a common engine tech drop today Confusedhock: and I don't know if I should replace my classic Borg assimilated engine. Trying to increase Dps (aren't we all). I have a hard time pulling aggro away, and I'm not sure if it's because of my lack of threat skill or my DPS is still too low. I can't see as it would be DPS related, I run 125 on weapon power constantly. It's probably my lack of threat skill. I might get some, cause dang this thing is "tanky" Smile

The Stowiki is a pretty good site for finding out what things like that actually do jay.

Yeah; thanks Messor. It's funny that I actually figured that question out soon after I answered it. I think I'm going to keep my retro Borg engine and deflector, because I'd hate to give up the shield benefit. One other question. Do you have points in your "Threat" skill? I have a great tank, but I can never seem to hold aggro. Others steal it from me, and I refuse to believe that with all Borg mk XI weapons it's because I'm not causing enough damage. I go through most STF's with no hull damage at all. Or do I just have a really good build?

I have threat maxed actually. However keep in mind that your tank will be sorely tested the more threat skill you have as you will be taking more damage. It does boost resistance but its a small amount with each rank in it.
