Roleplaying threads? - tobiasosir - 04-09-2013

Not sure if this is the most appropriate place to post this thread--so feel free to move it if need be!

I'm wondering if there's a thread here where people roleplay their characters. I haven't seen anything like it--not even sure there's interest--but I thought I'd ask. Having some experience with play-by-post RPGs, I thought it would be fun. Has this been tried here?

Interest!

I've actually seen a few people in STO Fleet chat who roleplay (at leas that's what it looked like). Hell, I would have fun... might even get into it. I've really wanted to work on an awesome bio and base my play style off that.

This reminds me, that I need to continue to work on my website for my characters. *facepalm*

NICE! When you get it finished, make sure to pass along the info. I think in-game character bio's, if you can find them, are very interesting. I'm always checking peoples profile to see if they've taken the time to build a story.

Will do. My two major Characters (Paddy@TacPaddy_stoa and Patroq@TacPaddy_stoa) have some bio's already. I even got bored once and made a Facebook-Page for Paddy. But I discontinued that one. LOL.

I agree with you, that giving a Character a certain background, makes it more interesting. I think, it also shows a certain commitment to the game. Smile

I couldn't agree more!!!! Facebook is already a sync hole for me, I can't imagine keeping up a fake page as well Smile HAHAHAHA!

Well, the main reason lies in my Handle change from @pmarquardt to @TacPaddy_stoa. I was just to lazy to update all those entries on the FB-Page. Smile

Yea, totally understand. We need a good character thread... I never look at handles when people are typing in chat, I just see the character.

My two:
Hijaak - Fed
Tao'feng - Klingon... of course Smile

Cool, glad there's some interest!
I have to admit that when I started with my Fed toon (Alkut Sh'ronn), I didn't bother with a bio. I just wanted to get into the game, but now I feel a bit disconnected with that character. I've thought about starting another from scratch, but I want to give it a go with creating some backstory.

I'm working on a bio for my FDF character, K'voq, though--a descendant of someone from the mixed Romulan/Klingon colony from "Birthright," full Klingon, but with sympathies to other races. His senior staff is almost entierly races other than Klingon, and he has a certain sympathy for races kept under the thumb of the Empire, unable to prove their own honour simply because they don't have Klingon blood. This helps bring in a future Romulan character as well, who will have a solid connection to K'voq: her daughter serves as his second in command.
