Sad As it says.....Ive been playing for about a year now...It took that long just to get my main caught up with gear rep and Doff stuff.....Now with winter event here im still finding myself VERY bored....I know that i can grind out the rest of the points for spec but really dont want to do it, i know that i can do the same to get mk 14 gear. Again, same as above......Even was thinking of making a new toon but after the time that it took me to get to lvl 60 with the gear that i have now then grind to lvl 15 in RD ect....There is just no real Incentives to make me want to go threw that all over again......Now mind you that ive played some real good MMORPG's in my gaming time. Only reason that im not playing my favorite right now is do to the money that is required for the bi monthly.....That game well, we wont talk about that one....Logging into a game just to do one or two things then logging out do to the monotony......./sigh Sad
In all honesty, I recommend you not only make another Character, BUT also try another faction. I started out as a Starfleet Tactical Officer, then I tried and liked playing as a K.D.F. Tactical Officer. But then, the Romulans were introduced with the "Legacy of Romulus" expansion and I decided to become a Romulan Engineer. I loved it and it became my favorite.
Sure, it will be a PITA to start over, but you get new missions in different storylines and you may like it too. When you get to the cross-faction storylines, then you have already the experience to master those.
Alternatively, you can try "Accolade Hunting", if you need a purpose for STO. Or you could always join one of the STO Academy Fleets and
get bored have fun together.

Leveling other characters in other factions is fun.
Joining a fleet and socializing helps.
You can play Foundry missions, or create your own. Some of the ones out there are really great!
Frankly, you can never stop improving. I've been playing for 4 years and I'm in the process of getting all new equipment, new boff skills, etc.
I just want to add that everyone eventually feels they need a break from the game. I know there are times I'm just burned out, but there are other times where I can't wait to get out of work to go home and play a little.
With people.
Even when I don't feel like I wanna play game, I come online to chat and socialize.
It's ok to not play game for few days/weeks, sometimes it helps to boost interest in it, especially when you find interesting stuff in patch notes while away.
That happened to me few years ago, I was gone for over a year, then Legacy of Romulus happened
Anyways, try what they said, start in new faction, sometimes it gives freshness to experience (IMHO, LoR has best story in game).
And don't forget MM part of this MMORPG, you might meet interesting people, get new friends, and one day when you travel somewhere you can raise your bloodwine mug with someone from game!
Actually, the text of this Song describes best, why I play STO over and over again. Socialising really helps.
