Ok... I finally managed to find something for those of us that can't make heads or tails of the keybind commands. I'll add a link to the site as I don't want to copy his materials without permission.

Under the general tab is a quick and dirty .txt file you can copy into STO and a simple explanation on how to set it up. The only issue I had was in locating the file as I downloaded STO from Steam. In which case you'll use C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online\Live for the path.

Please feel free to add to this as I know a bunch of folks are using keybinds already.
I've been using this keybind tool for creating my keybinds. It's an easy to use visual tool. You simply select the button you want to bind stuff to, select the stuff you want bound and copy the code it generates for you. Paste that code into the chat window and hit enter. That's about as simple as you can make it.

TacPaddy

Create a text file and insert the following:

Quote:Space "GenSendMessage HUD_Root FireAll $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 0 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 1 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 2 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 3 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 4 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 5 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 6 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 7 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 8 $$ +STOTrayExecByTray 3 9"
If you want to add more powers than add " $$ +STOTrayExecByTray <Tray> <Slot>" and the end of the line.

This allows you to fire all Weapons and activate all Power in Tray 4 from Slot 1 to 10. The +STOTrayExecByTray starts counting at 0 and the Syntax is +STOTrayExecByTray <Tray> <Slot> .

Save the Text live under a suitable name (like powers.txt) and save it in the Live directory of your STO installation. Then ingame you enter /bind_load_file powers.txt or alternatively /bind_load_file \powers.txt</path>

You need to give me a tutorial sometime. It never did what it was supposed to on my PC. Big Grin

I couldn't get this to work either... mind editing your post or writing up a brief step by step on how you use it? Be great if we could turn what originally started as a question post into a key binds for dummies.

My next goal is to set up the F1 - F5 keys to target team mates and fire off abilities from trays. Trying to heal in this game is a clunky affair when you have pay attention to range, shields, hull, and debuffs.

As always please feel free to add thoughts, suggestions, and questions to this post... and thank you all for the help you're providing!
Sorry about that guys. Looks like they did some kind of update to it and doesn't work for me either now. The old version worked fine. That's too bad, it was a really easy program to use.
TP thank u so much for this - Finally decided to give this a try and boy o boy - I just cannot believe how i was able to play this game without them :-)
